Working out quantities for your Shrewsbury job

Kitting out a crew of 4 means 4 sets each of eye protection, gloves suited to the task, a hard hat and hi-vis, plus respiratory protection for anyone cutting masonry.

Tools & Site Safety: choosing well

Gloves for the task

Different gloves suit different risks: cut resistance, chemical protection to EN ISO 374 for cement, or grip.

Dust from cutting

Cutting masonry and concrete produces silica dust. Use water suppression or extraction and suitable respiratory protection, as HSE guidance sets out.

• Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.
• In summer Shrewsbury gets around 16h 52m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.
