Getting screws and nails onto your Wednesbury site

Boxed fixings travel with the rest of your order. Wednesbury is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
• Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.
• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.

Working out quantities for your Wednesbury job

Fixing 40 sheets of plasterboard at about 35 screws a sheet uses 1,400 drywall screws, or 2 boxes of 1,000.

Getting the right screws and nails

Length

A rule of thumb is a fixing at least two and a half times the thickness of the piece you are fixing.

Inside or outside?

Use galvanised, coated or stainless fixings outdoors and with treated timber, so they do not corrode.
