Getting the right screws and nails

Structural fixings

Joist hangers, straps and structural connections need the fixings the connector maker specifies.

Inside or outside?

Use galvanised, coated or stainless fixings outdoors and with treated timber, so they do not corrode.

Getting screws and nails onto your Taunton site

Boxed fixings travel with the rest of your order. Taunton is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
• Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around TA1 are priced to the exact address.
• On busy streets in Taunton, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.

Estimating your screws and nails

Fixing 40 sheets of plasterboard at about 35 screws a sheet uses 1,400 drywall screws, or 2 boxes of 1,000.
