Before you order screws and nails

Length

A rule of thumb is a fixing at least two and a half times the thickness of the piece you are fixing.

Structural fixings

Joist hangers, straps and structural connections need the fixings the connector maker specifies.

Before your Gloucester delivery arrives

Boxed fixings travel with the rest of your order. Gloucester is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.
• In summer Gloucester gets around 16h 42m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.
• Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.

Sizing your order

Fixing 10 sheets of plasterboard at about 35 screws a sheet uses 350 drywall screws, or 1 box of 1,000.
