Roofing Materials for Lincoln, delivered to site

Roofing materials are the tiles or slates, battens, underlay membranes and fixings that make up a pitched roof covering, plus the flat-roof materials for smaller roofs.

SK Trade prices roofing materials delivered to Lincoln and the rest of Lincolnshire, so the cost and the delivery date are agreed before anything is loaded.

Delivering roofing materials in Lincoln

Tiles and slates arrive palletised and are usually crane-offloaded where access allows; battens and membrane rolls travel with them. Lincoln is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

  • Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
  • Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.
  • For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.

Before you order roofing materials

Check the minimum pitch

Every tile and slate has a minimum rafter pitch set by the manufacturer. A shallow extension roof may rule some tiles out.

Matching an existing roof

The profile, size and colour all matter. A photo of the tile and a measurement of its exposed face help us find the closest current product.

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.

Quantities: a worked example

An 18 m² roof slope needs roughly 180 large-format interlocking tiles, or about 1,080 small plain tiles, before ridge, hip and verge pieces. The exact count comes from the tile's gauge, so send us the roof measurements and pitch and we will work it out with the battens and membrane.

Questions about roofing materials delivery in Lincoln

What battens should I use?

Roofing battens graded for roofing work, of the size the tile maker and BS 5534 call for, normally treated.

Do you deliver roofing materials to trades and homeowners in Lincoln?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

How many roof tiles do I need?

It depends on the tile and its gauge (the spacing of the battens). Manufacturers quote tiles per square metre for each product; send us the roof area and the tile and we will work it out with ridge, hip and verge pieces.

Can I add other materials to my Lincoln delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from roofing materials to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.
