Getting plasterboard onto your Renfrewshire and Inverclyde site

Boards are heavy and fragile at the edges; they travel flat and are best stored flat and dry. Our standard mainland delivery area covers Renfrewshire and Inverclyde.

• If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
• Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.
• Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.

Before you order plasterboard

Which board type?

Use moisture-resistant board in wet rooms, fire board where a fire rating is required, and acoustic board for quieter rooms. Building regulations or your design set the requirement.

Tapered or square edge?

Tapered edge boards are for taping and jointing without a skim; square edge boards are normally skimmed.

In Scotland most building work needs a building warrant from the local authority, assessed against the Building Standards Technical Handbooks.
