Sizing your order

Skimming 30 m² of walls and ceilings at about 2 mm takes around 3 bags of 25 kg finishing plaster, plus angle beads for external corners. Coverage varies with the background, so allow a spare bag.

Fresh stock matters

Old plaster sets fast and unevenly. Order it close to when you need it and keep bags dry.

Undercoat for the background

Hardwall suits high-suction backgrounds like brick and block; bonding suits low-suction backgrounds like concrete or painted surfaces.

Before your Newmarket delivery arrives

Bags come on a pallet or with a mixed load; keep them dry and off the floor. Newmarket is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
• In summer Newmarket gets around 16h 47m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.
• Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.

Your questions answered

How much plaster do I need to skim a wall?

A 25 kg bag of finishing plaster covers roughly 10 square metres at a 2 mm skim, but coverage varies with the background and thickness. Check the bag.

Can I add other materials to my Newmarket delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from plaster to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

Do you deliver plaster to trades and homeowners in Newmarket?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

Why does my plaster go off too quickly?

Old or damp plaster sets faster. Use bags within their date and store them dry.
