Before your Welshpool delivery arrives

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Welshpool is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
• Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.

Estimating your planed timber

A 3.8 × 4 m room with one door has about 14.8 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 16.3 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Getting the right planed timber

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

Planed Timber & Mouldings in Welshpool: questions

Do you deliver planed timber to Welshpool?

Yes. We deliver across Welshpool, including SY21. Welshpool is inside our standard mainland delivery area. Send your list or call 0800 088 6341 and we will price it delivered to your postcode.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Welshpool?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

How should I store planed timber?

Flat, off the ground and inside if possible, so it does not take on moisture and move before fitting.

Can you match an old skirting profile?

We can look for the closest current profile. Exact matches for old or bespoke profiles may need machining to order.
