How delivery works in Smethwick

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Smethwick is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.
• Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.
• In summer Smethwick gets around 16h 50m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.

Working out quantities for your Smethwick job

A 4.2 × 3.6 m room with one door has about 14.8 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 16.3 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Picking the right product

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.
