Planed Timber & Mouldings: choosing well

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Delivering planed timber in Saddleworth

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Saddleworth is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
• If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.
• Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.
