Planning the drop in Rosyth

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Rosyth is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
• Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
• Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.

Working out quantities for your Rosyth job

A 3 × 4 m room with one door has about 13.2 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 14.5 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Getting the right planed timber

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Planed Timber & Mouldings questions

Can you deliver planed timber to a site with restricted access in Rosyth?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

How should I store planed timber?

Flat, off the ground and inside if possible, so it does not take on moisture and move before fitting.

How soon can planed timber be delivered in Rosyth?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.

What does PAR mean?

Planed all round: the timber has been machined smooth on all four faces.
