Quantities: a worked example

A 3.8 × 3.6 m room with one door has about 14 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 15.4 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Getting the right planed timber

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Planning the drop in Maidenhead

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Maidenhead is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
• Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.
• If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.

Planed Timber & Mouldings in Maidenhead: questions

Can I add other materials to my Maidenhead delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from planed timber to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

Do you sell MDF skirting?

Yes, primed MDF skirting and architrave in common profiles, alongside softwood.

Do you deliver planed timber to trades and homeowners in Maidenhead?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

How should I store planed timber?

Flat, off the ground and inside if possible, so it does not take on moisture and move before fitting.
