Picking the right product

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

How delivery works in Macclesfield

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Macclesfield is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
• Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around SK11 are priced to the exact address.
• Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.

Working out quantities for your Macclesfield job

A 3 × 3.2 m room with one door has about 11.6 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 12.8 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Questions about planed timber delivery in Macclesfield

Do you sell MDF skirting?

Yes, primed MDF skirting and architrave in common profiles, alongside softwood.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Macclesfield?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

Can you match an old skirting profile?

We can look for the closest current profile. Exact matches for old or bespoke profiles may need machining to order.

Can you deliver planed timber to a site with restricted access in Macclesfield?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.
