Getting the right planed timber

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

Estimating your planed timber

A 3.4 × 3.6 m room with one door has about 13.2 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 14.5 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Getting planed timber onto your Holloway site

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Holloway is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• In summer Holloway gets around 16h 39m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.
• Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around N7 are priced to the exact address.
• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Holloway?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

Do you sell MDF skirting?

Yes, primed MDF skirting and architrave in common profiles, alongside softwood.

What does PAR mean?
