Estimating your planed timber

A 4.2 × 4.6 m room with one door has about 16.8 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 18.5 m, or 5 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Before your Hindley delivery arrives

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Hindley is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
• Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.
• Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around WN2 are priced to the exact address.

Getting the right planed timber

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Ordering planed timber for Hindley: FAQs

How soon can planed timber be delivered in Hindley?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.

Can you match an old skirting profile?

We can look for the closest current profile. Exact matches for old or bespoke profiles may need machining to order.

What does PAR mean?

Planed all round: the timber has been machined smooth on all four faces.

Can I add other materials to my Hindley delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from planed timber to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.
