Working out quantities for your Hatfield job

A 3.8 × 4 m room with one door has about 14.8 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 16.3 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Planning the drop in Hatfield

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Hatfield is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• In summer Hatfield gets around 16h 41m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.
• Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.
• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.

Before you order planed timber

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

Planed Timber & Mouldings in Hatfield: questions

Do you deliver planed timber to trades and homeowners in Hatfield?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

Can you deliver planed timber to a site with restricted access in Hatfield?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

How should I store planed timber?

Flat, off the ground and inside if possible, so it does not take on moisture and move before fitting.

Do you sell MDF skirting?

Yes, primed MDF skirting and architrave in common profiles, alongside softwood.
