A 4.2 × 3.6 m room with one door has about 14.8 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 16.3 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Getting planed timber onto your Farnham site

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Farnham is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• With roughly 7h 52m of daylight in Farnham around the shortest day, morning deliveries leave more working light for the job.
• Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.
• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.

Picking the right product

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

Planed Timber & Mouldings questions

Do you deliver planed timber to trades and homeowners in Farnham?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

How soon can planed timber be delivered in Farnham?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.

Do you sell MDF skirting?

Yes, primed MDF skirting and architrave in common profiles, alongside softwood.

Can you match an old skirting profile?

We can look for the closest current profile. Exact matches for old or bespoke profiles may need machining to order.
