Delivery to Ballymena: what helps

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Deliveries to Northern Ireland include a sea crossing, so we quote each order individually.

• If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
• With roughly 7h 12m of daylight in Ballymena around the shortest day, morning deliveries leave more working light for the job.
• If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.

Getting the right planed timber

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

Questions about planed timber delivery in Ballymena

Do you sell MDF skirting?

Yes, primed MDF skirting and architrave in common profiles, alongside softwood.

Why is my 2 × 4 smaller than 2 × 4 inches?

Timber is often named by its sawn size before planing. Once planed, it finishes smaller, so a nominal 2 × 4 is roughly 44 × 94 mm or less.

Can you deliver planed timber to a site with restricted access in Ballymena?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

How soon can planed timber be delivered in Ballymena?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.
