Choosing PIR insulation boards

Sealing joints

Tape the joints with foil tape so the foil layer works as a continuous vapour control layer where the design relies on it.

Fire considerations

PIR is a combustible product. Building regulations restrict combustible materials in some situations, such as external walls of taller buildings; check what applies.

In Northern Ireland building work follows the Building Regulations (Northern Ireland), with guidance in the Technical Booklets, and applications go to the council's building control team.

Delivery to Dungannon: what helps

Boards are light but bulky; they travel in wrapped packs and should be stored flat and dry. Deliveries to Northern Ireland include a sea crossing, so we quote each order individually.

• On busy streets in Dungannon, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.
• Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.
• Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around BT70 are priced to the exact address.

Ordering PIR insulation boards for Dungannon: FAQs

Can you deliver PIR insulation boards to a site with restricted access in Dungannon?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Is PIR better than mineral wool?

PIR insulates more per millimetre, so it suits tight spaces. Mineral wool is non-combustible, cheaper per square metre and better for sound.

How many PIR boards do I need?

Divide the area by 2.88 m² (one 2400 × 1200 board) and add about 5 to 10 percent for cutting.

How soon can PIR insulation boards be delivered in Dungannon?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.
