Planning the drop in Bracknell

Boards are light but bulky; they travel in wrapped packs and should be stored flat and dry. Bracknell is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
• In summer Bracknell gets around 16h 37m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.
• Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.

Things to check before you order

Sealing joints

Tape the joints with foil tape so the foil layer works as a continuous vapour control layer where the design relies on it.

Fire considerations

PIR is a combustible product. Building regulations restrict combustible materials in some situations, such as external walls of taller buildings; check what applies.

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.

How much will you need?

Insulating 36 m² of rafters, floor or wall takes 14 boards of 2400 × 1200 mm including offcuts. The thickness depends on the U-value you need, so check it before you order. Try the insulation calculator

PIR Insulation Boards questions

Can PIR be used in external walls?

In some situations, but building regulations restrict combustible insulation in external walls of certain buildings. Check the rules for your building.

Do you deliver PIR insulation boards to trades and homeowners in Bracknell?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

What is the foil for?

The foil facing reflects heat, protects the foam and, when joints are taped, can act as a vapour control layer.

Can I add other materials to my Bracknell delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from PIR insulation boards to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.
