Picking the right product

Cutting MDF safely

MDF dust is fine; cut with extraction and wear suitable respiratory protection.

OSB or plywood?

OSB3 is usually cheaper and fine for most structural decking in humid conditions. Plywood is stiffer, takes fixings near edges better and performs better where it may get wet.

Delivery to Yeadon: what helps

Sheets come in packs on the lorry bed, crane-lifted or hand-offloaded. Yeadon is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
• Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
• Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around LS19 are priced to the exact address.

Sizing your order

Decking 15 m² with 2440 × 1220 mm sheets takes 6 sheets including 10% for cutting. In P5 chipboard flooring (2400 × 600 mm) the same floor takes 12 boards.

OSB, MDF & Chipboard in Yeadon: questions

Can you deliver OSB, MDF and chipboard to a site with restricted access in Yeadon?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Can OSB get wet?

OSB3 copes with humid conditions and short exposure during construction, but it should not be left in the rain for long or used where it stays wet.

Can I add other materials to my Yeadon delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from OSB, MDF and chipboard to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

What size are flooring boards?

Chipboard flooring is commonly 2400 × 600 mm with tongue-and-groove on all four edges.
