Before you order OSB, MDF and chipboard

OSB or plywood?

OSB3 is usually cheaper and fine for most structural decking in humid conditions. Plywood is stiffer, takes fixings near edges better and performs better where it may get wet.

Cutting MDF safely

MDF dust is fine; cut with extraction and wear suitable respiratory protection.

Delivery to Reigate: what helps

Sheets come in packs on the lorry bed, crane-lifted or hand-offloaded. Reigate is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
• For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
• Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.

Questions about OSB, MDF and chipboard delivery in Reigate

Can you deliver OSB, MDF and chipboard to a site with restricted access in Reigate?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Can I add other materials to my Reigate delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from OSB, MDF and chipboard to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

Can OSB get wet?

OSB3 copes with humid conditions and short exposure during construction, but it should not be left in the rain for long or used where it stays wet.

Is MDF waterproof?

No. Moisture-resistant MDF handles humid rooms better than standard MDF but must still be sealed and kept out of direct water.
