Cutting MDF safely

MDF dust is fine; cut with extraction and wear suitable respiratory protection.

Which flooring?

P5 chipboard flooring is the standard moisture-resistant floor deck. 18 mm is common at 400 mm joist centres and 22 mm at 600 mm centres, but follow the maker's span table.

Before your Deeside delivery arrives

Sheets come in packs on the lorry bed, crane-lifted or hand-offloaded. Deeside is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
• On busy streets in Deeside, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.

Working out quantities for your Deeside job

Decking 15 m² with 2440 × 1220 mm sheets takes 6 sheets including 10% for cutting. In P5 chipboard flooring (2400 × 600 mm) the same floor takes 12 boards.
