Delivering MOT Type 1 in Fleet

Bulk bags are usually crane-offloaded where access allows; very large quantities can be priced as loose tipped loads where access allows. Fleet is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.
• Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.
• Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.

Quantities: a worked example

An 8 × 3 m area at 100 mm compacted is 2.4 m³. At about 2.1 tonnes per cubic metre plus 10% that is 5.5 tonnes, or around 7 bulk bags. Try the sub-base calculator

Getting the right MOT Type 1

How deep?

Patios and paths commonly use around 100 mm of compacted sub-base, and domestic driveways around 150 mm or more. Soft ground or heavier vehicles need more; your designer or installer will confirm.

Virgin or recycled?

Recycled Type 1 can be a good option where it meets the specification; ask what your project or local authority requires.

Do you deliver MOT Type 1 to Fleet?

Can you tip it loose?

For larger quantities we can price a loose tipped load if the lorry can reach and there is space to tip.

How much MOT Type 1 do I need?

Multiply the area by the compacted depth to get cubic metres, then allow about 2.1 to 2.2 tonnes per cubic metre. At 100 mm deep, a tonne covers roughly 4.5 square metres.

How soon can MOT Type 1 be delivered in Fleet?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.
