Steel & Concrete Lintels delivered to Truro
A lintel is a beam that carries the masonry over a door or window opening; most UK houses use galvanised steel cavity lintels or prestressed concrete lintels.
We deliver lintels to sites, driveways and yards across Truro, from a single pallet for a small job to full loads for bigger builds.

What lintels can we deliver to Truro?
- PadstonesConcrete pads that spread the load at the ends of beams and lintels.
- Prestressed concrete lintelsPlain concrete lintels for inner leaves and internal openings.
- Cavity trays and stop endsTo shed water out of the cavity over openings.
- Single-leaf and box lintelsFor solid walls, timber frame and internal walls.
- Steel cavity wall lintelsInsulated galvanised lintels that support both leaves of a cavity wall.
Sizing your order
For a 1,800 mm clear opening, add at least 150 mm of bearing at each end: the lintel needs to be at least 2,100 mm long. Then pick the type for the wall build-up and check the load in the manufacturer's table, or ask your engineer if the opening carries a floor or roof.
Choosing lintels
Do I need a cavity tray?
Over openings in cavity walls, water in the cavity has to be directed outwards. Many steel lintels need a separate cavity tray and stop ends; check the lintel maker's detail.
Steel or concrete?
Steel cavity lintels support both leaves and include insulation to limit cold bridging. Concrete lintels are simple and robust for single leaves and internal walls.
In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.
Before your Truro delivery arrives
Lintels are long, so tell us about tight access. Shorter lintels can travel with a mixed load; long steel lintels are handled by hand or crane. Truro is inside our standard mainland delivery area.
- Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.
- Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around TR1 are priced to the exact address.
- Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
Questions about lintels delivery in Truro
Can lintels be delivered with my blocks?
Yes. We combine them on one lorry where the lengths and the route allow.
Can you deliver lintels to a site with restricted access in Truro?
Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.
Are steel lintels insulated?
Cavity wall steel lintels usually have insulation inside to cut heat loss at the opening. Single-leaf and box lintels may not.
Do you deliver lintels to trades and homeowners in Truro?
Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.
