Steel & Concrete Lintels delivered to Trowbridge
A lintel is a beam that carries the masonry over a door or window opening; most UK houses use galvanised steel cavity lintels or prestressed concrete lintels.
We deliver lintels to sites, driveways and yards across Trowbridge, from a single pallet for a small job to full loads for bigger builds.

Before your Trowbridge delivery arrives
Lintels are long, so tell us about tight access. Shorter lintels can travel with a mixed load; long steel lintels are handled by hand or crane. Trowbridge is inside our standard mainland delivery area.
- If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
- With roughly 7h 51m of daylight in Trowbridge around the shortest day, morning deliveries leave more working light for the job.
- Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.
Choosing lintels
Which lintel for my opening?
Measure the clear opening, add the end bearing each side, and note the wall type (cavity width, inner and outer leaf) and what sits above. Manufacturers publish load tables; for anything carrying a floor, roof or point load get an engineer or building control to confirm.
Do I need a cavity tray?
Over openings in cavity walls, water in the cavity has to be directed outwards. Many steel lintels need a separate cavity tray and stop ends; check the lintel maker's detail.
In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.
How much will you need?
For a 1,500 mm clear opening, add at least 150 mm of bearing at each end: the lintel needs to be at least 1,800 mm long. Then pick the type for the wall build-up and check the load in the manufacturer's table, or ask your engineer if the opening carries a floor or roof.
Common questions from Trowbridge
Is there a minimum order for delivery to Trowbridge?
There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.
Can you tell me which lintel to use?
We can suggest options from the manufacturers' load tables based on the opening, wall type and load you describe, but for anything structural the final choice should come from your designer or engineer, and be approved through building control.
Do you deliver lintels to trades and homeowners in Trowbridge?
Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.
Can lintels be delivered with my blocks?
Yes. We combine them on one lorry where the lengths and the route allow.
