Steel & Concrete Lintels delivered across Gloucestershire
A lintel is a beam that carries the masonry over a door or window opening; most UK houses use galvanised steel cavity lintels or prestressed concrete lintels.
Across Gloucestershire, from Gloucester to Cirencester, we supply lintels delivered to site with the price and date confirmed in writing.

Working out quantities for your Gloucestershire job
For a 2,100 mm clear opening, add at least 150 mm of bearing at each end: the lintel needs to be at least 2,400 mm long. Then pick the type for the wall build-up and check the load in the manufacturer's table, or ask your engineer if the opening carries a floor or roof.
Delivering lintels in Gloucestershire
Lintels are long, so tell us about tight access. Shorter lintels can travel with a mixed load; long steel lintels are handled by hand or crane. Our standard mainland delivery area covers Gloucestershire.
- Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.
- Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.
- On busy streets in Gloucestershire, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.
Before you order lintels
Steel or concrete?
Steel cavity lintels support both leaves and include insulation to limit cold bridging. Concrete lintels are simple and robust for single leaves and internal walls.
Do I need a cavity tray?
Over openings in cavity walls, water in the cavity has to be directed outwards. Many steel lintels need a separate cavity tray and stop ends; check the lintel maker's detail.
In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.
Steel & Concrete Lintels questions
Are steel lintels insulated?
Cavity wall steel lintels usually have insulation inside to cut heat loss at the opening. Single-leaf and box lintels may not.
Can lintels be delivered with my blocks?
Yes. We combine them on one lorry where the lengths and the route allow.
Can you deliver lintels to a site with restricted access in Gloucestershire?
Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.
Do you deliver lintels to trades and homeowners in Gloucestershire?
Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.
