Before your Peterhead delivery arrives
Blocks are banded on pallets and usually crane-offloaded where the vehicle and access allow; tell us the weight limit of any drive or the ground where pallets will sit. Peterhead is inside our standard mainland delivery area.
- Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.
- On busy streets in Peterhead, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.
- For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.

Handling heavy blocks
Health and safety guidance discourages laying very heavy blocks by hand for long periods. Lighter blocks or planning the lift can make a big difference on site.
What strength do I need?
Most houses use 3.6 N/mm² or 7.3 N/mm² blocks. Your structural design, your building standards surveyor or the block manufacturer's guidance sets the grade; tell us what is specified and we will match it.
In Scotland most building work needs a building warrant from the local authority, assessed against the Building Standards Technical Handbooks.
Concrete & Aircrete Blocks in Peterhead: questions
Are aircrete blocks strong enough for an extension?
Many aircrete blocks are designed for loadbearing walls, but grades differ. Check the strength your design calls for and the manufacturer's guidance on use below DPC.
Is there a minimum order for delivery to Peterhead?
There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.
How heavy is a concrete block?
It depends on the type and thickness. A 100 mm dense block is roughly 18 to 20 kg, a lightweight block noticeably less, and an aircrete block much less again.
Can you deliver concrete blocks to a site with restricted access in Peterhead?
Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.
