Delivering concrete blocks in Berkshire

Blocks are banded on pallets and usually crane-offloaded where the vehicle and access allow; tell us the weight limit of any drive or the ground where pallets will sit. Our standard mainland delivery area covers Berkshire.

  • Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
  • Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
  • Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.

Getting the right concrete blocks

What strength do I need?

Most houses use 3.6 N/mm² or 7.3 N/mm² blocks. Your structural design, your building control officer or the block manufacturer's guidance sets the grade; tell us what is specified and we will match it.

Handling heavy blocks

Health and safety guidance discourages laying very heavy blocks by hand for long periods. Lighter blocks or planning the lift can make a big difference on site.

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.
