Delivering sand in Coatbridge
Bulk bags are usually crane-lifted onto a drive or kerb where the vehicle and access allow; small bags travel with a mixed load. Coatbridge is inside our standard mainland delivery area.
- Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
- Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.
- Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
Estimating your sand
A 20 m² floor screed at 65 mm is 1.3 m³: about 2.08 tonnes of sharp sand at a 1:4 mix, or 3 bulk bags at around 850 kg each, plus the cement. Try the sand calculator
Building & Sharp Sand: choosing well
Colour of mortar
Building sand colour changes the mortar colour. For matching existing joints, a sample is worth it.
Covering bulk bags
Cover bags to stop sand drying out or getting saturated, and keep it clean of debris.
Building & Sharp Sand in Coatbridge: questions
Can bulk bags go on my drive?
Yes, if the crane can reach and the drive can take the weight. Tell us about any block paving or soft ground.
How much sand do I need for a screed?
Multiply the floor area by the screed depth to get cubic metres, then allow about 1.6 tonnes of sharp sand per cubic metre plus cement at your mix. Our sand calculator does the sums.
Can I add other materials to my Coatbridge delivery?
Yes. Put everything on one list, from sand to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.
Do you deliver sand to trades and homeowners in Coatbridge?
Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.
