Before you order bricks

Colour consistency

Order everything for one job at the same time so the bricks come from the same production run, then mix from three or four packs as you lay to blend any variation.

Is the wall exposed?

For walls that will get very wet and freeze, such as parapets, copings, below DPC or free-standing garden walls, use a clay brick declared F2 (freeze-thaw resistant) and S2 (low soluble salts).

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.

Delivery to Worksop: what helps

Bricks come in strapped packs, usually on a pallet, and are lifted off by a lorry-mounted crane where the drop point allows. Worksop is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

  • With roughly 7h 30m of daylight in Worksop around the shortest day, morning deliveries leave more working light for the job.
  • Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.
  • For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
