How much will you need?

Take a garden wall in Suffolk 9 m long and 1.05 m high: 9.45 m². At 60 bricks per square metre plus 5% for cuts that is 596 bricks, roughly 2 packs of 500 depending on the maker, laid in about 0.56 tonnes of building sand and 6 bags of cement at a 1:4 mix. Try the brick calculator

How delivery works in Suffolk

Bricks come in strapped packs, usually on a pallet, and are lifted off by a lorry-mounted crane where the drop point allows. Our standard mainland delivery area covers Suffolk.

  • Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
  • Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.
  • Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.

Before you order bricks

Matching an existing house

Bring us the brick name if you know it, or a clear photo of a cleaned face in daylight with a tape measure for scale. Size matters as much as colour: older imperial bricks are often slightly larger than 65 mm.

Colour consistency

Order everything for one job at the same time so the bricks come from the same production run, then mix from three or four packs as you lay to blend any variation.

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.

Common questions from Suffolk

Which bricks go below the damp-proof course?

Below DPC you need bricks that cope with constant damp and frost: engineering bricks, or clay facings declared F2 and S2. Concrete bricks are another option for below-ground work.

Can you match my existing bricks?

Often, yes. Send the brick name if you have it, or a daylight photo of a clean face with a tape measure for scale. We will look for the nearest match in current ranges and can usually arrange a sample before you commit to a full order.

How soon can bricks be delivered in Suffolk?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.

Do you deliver bricks to trades and homeowners in Suffolk?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.
