How delivery works in Stirling
Bricks come in strapped packs, usually on a pallet, and are lifted off by a lorry-mounted crane where the drop point allows. Stirling is inside our standard mainland delivery area.
- Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.
- Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
- If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.
Before you order bricks
Engineering Class A or B?
Class A is the denser of the two and is usually chosen where strength or very low water absorption matters; Class B is the common choice below DPC and for manholes; a brick DPC course in a building needs Class A (DPC1). Your designer or the council's building standards service may specify one.
Matching an existing house
Bring us the brick name if you know it, or a clear photo of a cleaned face in daylight with a tape measure for scale. Size matters as much as colour: older imperial bricks are often slightly larger than 65 mm.
In Scotland most building work needs a building warrant from the local authority, assessed against the Building Standards Technical Handbooks.
Sizing your order
Take a garden wall in Stirling 7 m long and 1.2 m high: 8.4 m². At 60 bricks per square metre plus 5% for cuts that is 530 bricks, roughly 2 packs of 500 depending on the maker, laid in about 0.5 tonnes of building sand and 5 bags of cement at a 1:4 mix. Try the brick calculator
Questions about bricks delivery in Stirling
Is there a minimum order for delivery to Stirling?
There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.
Can I add other materials to my Stirling delivery?
Yes. Put everything on one list, from bricks to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.
How many bricks come in a pack?
It depends on the manufacturer and the brick. Packs of 400, 475 and 500 are common. We confirm the pack size with your price so you can order whole packs.
How many bricks are in a square metre?
With standard 215 × 65 mm bricks and 10 mm mortar joints you need about 60 bricks per square metre for a single-skin (half-brick) wall and about 120 for a one-brick-thick wall. Add around 5 percent for cuts and breakages.
