Getting bricks onto your Alloa site
Bricks come in strapped packs, usually on a pallet, and are lifted off by a lorry-mounted crane where the drop point allows. Alloa is inside our standard mainland delivery area.
- If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
- Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.
- If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.
A quick quantity check
Take a garden wall in Alloa 10 m long and 1.8 m high: 18 m². At 60 bricks per square metre plus 5% for cuts that is 1,134 bricks, roughly 3 packs of 500 depending on the maker, laid in about 1.06 tonnes of building sand and 10 bags of cement at a 1:4 mix. Try the brick calculator

Colour consistency
Order everything for one job at the same time so the bricks come from the same production run, then mix from three or four packs as you lay to blend any variation.
Is the wall exposed?
For walls that will get very wet and freeze, such as parapets, copings, below DPC or free-standing garden walls, use a clay brick declared F2 (freeze-thaw resistant) and S2 (low soluble salts).
In Scotland most building work needs a building warrant from the local authority, assessed against the Building Standards Technical Handbooks.
Questions about bricks delivery in Alloa
Which bricks go below the damp-proof course?
Below DPC you need bricks that cope with constant damp and frost: engineering bricks, or clay facings declared F2 and S2. Concrete bricks are another option for below-ground work.
How soon can bricks be delivered in Alloa?
We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.
Do you sell bricks in small quantities?
We price whole packs as standard because that is how bricks leave the works. For small repairs ask anyway: we will tell you honestly whether part packs are possible for the brick you need.
Can I add other materials to my Alloa delivery?
Yes. Put everything on one list, from bricks to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.
