Delivering bricks in Royal Leamington Spa

Bricks come in strapped packs, usually on a pallet, and are lifted off by a lorry-mounted crane where the drop point allows. Royal Leamington Spa is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
• In summer Royal Leamington Spa gets around 16h 47m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.

Things to check before you order

Is the wall exposed?

For walls that will get very wet and freeze, such as parapets, copings, below DPC or free-standing garden walls, use a clay brick declared F2 (freeze-thaw resistant) and S2 (low soluble salts).

Colour consistency

Order everything for one job at the same time so the bricks come from the same production run, then mix from three or four packs as you lay to blend any variation.

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.

Common questions from Royal Leamington Spa

Do you deliver bricks to trades and homeowners in Royal Leamington Spa?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

Can you deliver bricks to a site with restricted access in Royal Leamington Spa?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

How are bricks delivered?

In strapped packs on a flatbed lorry, normally unloaded by the lorry's crane. Tell us where the packs can go and whether there are overhead cables, low branches or soft ground.

How much mortar do 1,000 bricks need?

Roughly half a cubic metre of mixed mortar, which is about 1 tonne of building sand and 8 to 9 bags of cement at a 1:4 mix. Our brick calculator works it out for your wall.
