Ballast & Gravel delivered to Nottingham

Ballast (all-in ballast) is a mixed sand and gravel aggregate used with cement to make concrete; gravel and shingle are graded stones used for drainage, bedding and decoration.

We deliver ballast and gravel to sites, driveways and yards across Nottingham, from a single pallet for a small job to full loads for bigger builds.

Things to check before you order

Decorative areas

Lay decorative gravel over a weed membrane and a firm base so it does not sink.

Ballast or separate sand and gravel?

All-in ballast is convenient for general concrete. For more control over the mix, use separate sharp sand and gravel.

Getting ballast and gravel onto your Nottingham site

Bulk bags are usually lifted off by crane where access allows; tell us where they can sit and whether the ground is firm. Nottingham is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

  • Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.
  • For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
  • If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.

Ballast & Gravel in Nottingham: questions

Do you deliver ballast in bags?

Yes, bulk bags for most jobs and small bags for small quantities or tight access.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Nottingham?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

How much gravel do I need for a path?

Multiply the area by the depth (often 40 to 50 mm for decorative gravel) to get cubic metres, then allow about 1.5 tonnes per cubic metre.

Do you deliver ballast and gravel to trades and homeowners in Nottingham?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.
