Working out quantities for your Antrim job

Getting the right adhesives and sealants

Which sealant where?

Use sanitary silicone in wet areas, low-modulus sealant around frames that move, and paintable caulk on trims to be decorated.

Fire-stopping

Ordinary foam is not a fire stop. Where a fire seal is required use a tested fire-rated product and install it as tested.

Planning the drop in Antrim

Boxed with the rest of your order. Deliveries to Northern Ireland include a sea crossing, so we quote each order individually.

• In summer Antrim gets around 17h 18m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.
• For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
• If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.

Your questions answered

Can you deliver adhesives and sealants to a site with restricted access in Antrim?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Can I add other materials to my Antrim delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from adhesives and sealants to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

Can I paint over silicone?

Generally no. Use a paintable decorators' caulk if the joint will be painted.

Is expanding foam fire rated?

Only fire-rated foams that have been tested are. Standard foam is not a fire stop.
