Planning the drop in Shipley

Sheets travel flat on the lorry bed and are hand-offloaded or crane-lifted in packs. Shipley is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.
• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
• For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.

Decking 15 m² with 2440 × 1220 mm sheets takes 6 sheets including 10% for cutting.

Choosing plywood

Interior or exterior?

BS EN 636 classes plywood as class 1 (dry), class 2 (humid) or class 3 (exterior). Use class 3 for anything exposed to the weather.

Thickness for floors

18 mm or more is common for floors on joists at 400 mm centres; follow your design.

Plywood questions

How many sheets of plywood do I need?

Divide the area by 2.98 m² (the area of an 8 × 4 sheet) and add about 10 percent for cutting.

Can I add other materials to my Shipley delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from plywood to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Shipley?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

What thickness for a flat roof deck?

18 mm structural ply is common on joists at 400 mm centres; your design may specify more.
