Getting the right plywood

Structural use

Roof decks and floors need plywood marked for structural use. Check the thickness against the joist spacing.

Thickness for floors

18 mm or more is common for floors on joists at 400 mm centres; follow your design.

Getting plywood onto your Clydebank site

Sheets travel flat on the lorry bed and are hand-offloaded or crane-lifted in packs. Clydebank is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
• Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.
• On busy streets in Clydebank, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.

Ordering plywood for Clydebank: FAQs

Do you deliver plywood to trades and homeowners in Clydebank?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Clydebank?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

What size is a sheet of plywood?

The standard sheet is 2440 × 1220 mm, also known as 8 × 4 feet.

Is shuttering ply suitable for building?

It is made for concrete formwork, not for permanent structural decks. Use structural ply for roofs and floors.
