Estimating your planed timber

A 3.8 × 4 m room with one door has about 14.8 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 16.3 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Before you order planed timber

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

Planning the drop in Paignton

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Paignton is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.
• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
• With roughly 8h 00m of daylight in Paignton around the shortest day, morning deliveries leave more working light for the job.
