Planed Timber & Mouldings: choosing well

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Sizing your order

A 4.2 × 3.6 m room with one door has about 14.8 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 16.3 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

How delivery works in Milford Haven

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Milford Haven is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• On busy streets in Milford Haven, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.
• If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
• In summer Milford Haven gets around 16h 41m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.
