Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Bonnyrigg is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.

Quantities: a worked example

A 3 × 3.2 m room with one door has about 11.6 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 12.8 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Choosing planed timber

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Common questions from Bonnyrigg

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Bonnyrigg?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

How soon can planed timber be delivered in Bonnyrigg?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.

How should I store planed timber?

Flat, off the ground and inside if possible, so it does not take on moisture and move before fitting.

Do you sell MDF skirting?

Yes, primed MDF skirting and architrave in common profiles, alongside softwood.
