How delivery works in Armagh

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Deliveries to Northern Ireland include a sea crossing, so we quote each order individually.

• Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
• If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.
• Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.

Before you order planed timber

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

A quick quantity check

A 3.8 × 4 m room with one door has about 14.8 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 16.3 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Questions about planed timber delivery in Armagh

Do you deliver planed timber to Armagh?

What does PAR mean?

Planed all round: the timber has been machined smooth on all four faces.

Why is my 2 × 4 smaller than 2 × 4 inches?

Timber is often named by its sawn size before planing. Once planed, it finishes smaller, so a nominal 2 × 4 is roughly 44 × 94 mm or less.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Armagh?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.
