Planning the drop in Tamworth

Boards are light but bulky; they travel in wrapped packs and should be stored flat and dry. Tamworth is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.
• On busy streets in Tamworth, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.
• If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.

Quantities: a worked example

Insulating 12 m² of rafters, floor or wall takes 5 boards of 2400 × 1200 mm including offcuts. The thickness depends on the U-value you need, so check it before you order. Try the insulation calculator

Picking the right product

Fire considerations

PIR is a combustible product. Building regulations restrict combustible materials in some situations, such as external walls of taller buildings; check what applies.

Thickness for the U-value

The thickness you need depends on the U-value the building regulations require and the rest of the build-up. Manufacturers publish U-value tables; your designer or building control will confirm.

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.

Questions about PIR insulation boards delivery in Tamworth

How many PIR boards do I need?

Divide the area by 2.88 m² (one 2400 × 1200 board) and add about 5 to 10 percent for cutting.

Do you deliver PIR insulation boards to Tamworth?

Yes. We deliver across Tamworth, including B79, B77, B78. Tamworth is inside our standard mainland delivery area. Send your list or call 0800 088 6341 and we will price it delivered to your postcode.

Is PIR better than mineral wool?

PIR insulates more per millimetre, so it suits tight spaces. Mineral wool is non-combustible, cheaper per square metre and better for sound.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Tamworth?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.
