Before your Kirkintilloch delivery arrives

Boards are light but bulky; they travel in wrapped packs and should be stored flat and dry. Kirkintilloch is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
• Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.
• On busy streets in Kirkintilloch, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.

Things to check before you order

Sealing joints

Tape the joints with foil tape so the foil layer works as a continuous vapour control layer where the design relies on it.

Fire considerations

PIR is a combustible product. Building regulations restrict combustible materials in some situations, such as external walls of taller buildings; check what applies.

In Scotland most building work needs a building warrant from the local authority, assessed against the Building Standards Technical Handbooks.

Questions about PIR insulation boards delivery in Kirkintilloch

Can PIR be used in external walls?

In some situations, but building regulations restrict combustible insulation in external walls of certain buildings. Check the rules for your building.

Can you deliver PIR insulation boards to a site with restricted access in Kirkintilloch?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Is PIR better than mineral wool?

PIR insulates more per millimetre, so it suits tight spaces. Mineral wool is non-combustible, cheaper per square metre and better for sound.

Can I add other materials to my Kirkintilloch delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from PIR insulation boards to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.
