Delivery to Campbeltown: what helps

Boards are light but bulky; they travel in wrapped packs and should be stored flat and dry. Campbeltown is in an area where deliveries are priced individually because of the distance and access, so we quote each order separately.

• Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.
• Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
• Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around PA28 are priced to the exact address.

Things to check before you order

Thickness for the U-value

The thickness you need depends on the U-value the building regulations require and the rest of the build-up. Manufacturers publish U-value tables; your designer or the council's building standards service will confirm.

Sealing joints

Tape the joints with foil tape so the foil layer works as a continuous vapour control layer where the design relies on it.

In Scotland most building work needs a building warrant from the local authority, assessed against the Building Standards Technical Handbooks.

Working out quantities for your Campbeltown job

Insulating 16 m² of rafters, floor or wall takes 6 boards of 2400 × 1200 mm including offcuts. The thickness depends on the U-value you need, so check it before you order. Try the insulation calculator

PIR Insulation Boards questions

Do you deliver PIR insulation boards to Campbeltown?

Yes. We deliver across Campbeltown, including PA28. Campbeltown is in an area where deliveries are priced individually because of the distance and access, so we quote each order separately. Send your list or call 0800 088 6341 and we will price it delivered to your postcode.

Is PIR better than mineral wool?

PIR insulates more per millimetre, so it suits tight spaces. Mineral wool is non-combustible, cheaper per square metre and better for sound.

Can you deliver PIR insulation boards to a site with restricted access in Campbeltown?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Can PIR be used in external walls?

In some situations, but building regulations restrict combustible insulation in external walls of certain buildings. Check the rules for your building.
