Getting OSB, MDF and chipboard onto your Leytonstone site

Sheets come in packs on the lorry bed, crane-lifted or hand-offloaded. Leytonstone is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
• Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.
• If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.

Decking 12 m² with 2440 × 1220 mm sheets takes 5 sheets including 10% for cutting. In P5 chipboard flooring (2400 × 600 mm) the same floor takes 10 boards.

OSB or plywood?

OSB3 is usually cheaper and fine for most structural decking in humid conditions. Plywood is stiffer, takes fixings near edges better and performs better where it may get wet.

Cutting MDF safely

MDF dust is fine; cut with extraction and wear suitable respiratory protection.
