Things to check before you order

OSB or plywood?

OSB3 is usually cheaper and fine for most structural decking in humid conditions. Plywood is stiffer, takes fixings near edges better and performs better where it may get wet.

Cutting MDF safely

MDF dust is fine; cut with extraction and wear suitable respiratory protection.

Sizing your order

Decking 8 m² with 2440 × 1220 mm sheets takes 3 sheets including 10% for cutting. In P5 chipboard flooring (2400 × 600 mm) the same floor takes 7 boards.

Delivering OSB, MDF and chipboard in Halifax

Sheets come in packs on the lorry bed, crane-lifted or hand-offloaded. Halifax is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
• On busy streets in Halifax, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.
• Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.

OSB, MDF & Chipboard in Halifax: questions

Can you deliver OSB, MDF and chipboard to a site with restricted access in Halifax?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Is MDF waterproof?

No. Moisture-resistant MDF handles humid rooms better than standard MDF but must still be sealed and kept out of direct water.

How soon can OSB, MDF and chipboard be delivered in Halifax?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.

Can OSB get wet?

OSB3 copes with humid conditions and short exposure during construction, but it should not be left in the rain for long or used where it stays wet.
