Quantities: a worked example

Decking 36 m² with 2440 × 1220 mm sheets takes 14 sheets including 10% for cutting. In P5 chipboard flooring (2400 × 600 mm) the same floor takes 28 boards.

Delivery to Amersham: what helps

Sheets come in packs on the lorry bed, crane-lifted or hand-offloaded. Amersham is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.
• With roughly 7h 48m of daylight in Amersham around the shortest day, morning deliveries leave more working light for the job.
• Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.

Cutting MDF safely

MDF dust is fine; cut with extraction and wear suitable respiratory protection.

Which flooring?

P5 chipboard flooring is the standard moisture-resistant floor deck. 18 mm is common at 400 mm joist centres and 22 mm at 600 mm centres, but follow the maker's span table.

Can OSB get wet?

OSB3 copes with humid conditions and short exposure during construction, but it should not be left in the rain for long or used where it stays wet.

Can I add other materials to my Amersham delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from OSB, MDF and chipboard to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

Is MDF waterproof?

No. Moisture-resistant MDF handles humid rooms better than standard MDF but must still be sealed and kept out of direct water.

Can you deliver OSB, MDF and chipboard to a site with restricted access in Amersham?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.
