How delivery works in Fife
Bulk bags are usually crane-offloaded where access allows; very large quantities can be priced as loose tipped loads where access allows. Our standard mainland delivery area covers Fife.
- For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
- Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.
- Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.
MOT Type 1 Sub-base: choosing well
Virgin or recycled?
Recycled Type 1 can be a good option where it meets the specification; ask what your project or local authority requires.
Compaction
Lay and compact in layers with a plate compactor. Allow extra material because it compacts down.
Your questions answered
What is the difference between Type 1 and scalpings?
Type 1 is graded to a specification so it compacts into a strong, stable layer. Scalpings are less controlled and suit less demanding areas.
Can I add other materials to my Fife delivery?
Yes. Put everything on one list, from MOT Type 1 to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.
Do you deliver MOT Type 1 to Fife?
Yes. We deliver across Fife, including KY. Our standard mainland delivery area covers Fife. Send your list or call 0800 088 6341 and we will price it delivered to your postcode.
Does Type 1 drain?
Type 1 is reasonably free-draining when compacted, which is one reason it is used under drives and patios.
